David Lavanty is the head of Professional Services, Americas for Amazon Web Services (AWS) responsible for professional services sales and delivery for North and South America. He previously served as the Vice President, Sale and Services at Adobe where he was responsible for sales, marketing, solutions, managed services, consulting, education, pre-sales, account management, customer care and partner enablement for Adobe Public Sector. David led a team of 250 generating $300m in recurring revenues in a SaaS, cloud-based model.
David previously served as NJVC Senior Vice President (SVP), Solutions Division, and was responsible for the growth and management of the company’s market share in both commercial and federal government segments in delivering a wide range of information technology and strategic solutions, including Cloud Services, Cyber Security and Data Center Services. He also directs the development and implementation of solution sales and market management policies and procedures.
David has more than 28 years of experience in the IT industry, and has led global professional services organizations and built strategic customer relationships in various industries, ranging from federal, state and local government; higher education; financial services; and healthcare. Leveraging a collaborative working relationship that focuses on aligning people, process, technology and governance, he partners with customers to ensure maximum value from their IT investments.
Prior to joining NJVC, David was VP, Public Sector and Strategic Partners, with BMC Software. During his tenure, he managed an industry vertical business unit responsible for full profit and loss consumer sales, and oversaw strategic partner programs, including Global Outsourcers and Systems Integrators. Before holding this position, he was Corporate VP, Global Services, and oversaw operations for a $150-million business unit, supervised a staff of more than 500 people, and managed Consulting, Education, Managed Services and Software as a Service business lines for various global regions.
Earlier, David was Group VP, Public Sector, Higher Education and Healthcare, with Oracle Corporation, where he managed and supervised multiple business units, including Government, Higher Education, K-12 Education, Healthcare Services and Life Sciences.
David earned his Master of Business Administration in Information Systems from Marymount University and his undergraduate degree in Technical Education from the University of Akron. He also completed executive leadership programs in Advanced Leadership Development at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkley, and Leadership for Professional Services firms at Harvard Business School.
